Create Booklet 2
Mar 30, 2018
The complete story of how I came to know Create Booklet is a long one and I am leaving it for one other time. Short version: years ago I found a plug-in to print booklets; it was many years before anyone or anything allowed mac users to do so and I loved it. Years later I found out it had become an app and began collaborating with the team behind it. Today, that app turns 2.0.
My role is to translate text and to write text for press releases: this is the one I did for this latest version, a pretty comprehensive list of features can also be found on the Mac App Store Page or on the official website.
What makes an app turn 2.0? Create Booklet 1.x has been around for three years and quite a few features were added without the need for a major version numbering change, but features this time were too big to pass unnoticed. If you want the full list of changes go read them in the above mentioned links, my favorites are:
- Smart Problem Detection: CB2 checks key parameters and warns you for possible errors. I know I miss things, especially when in hurry, this should save me some time and paper;
- Presets: similar to SPD, saves ton of time;
- Mini and Micro Booklets: so cool! I was kind of not caring, but seeing one in person I loved them. You could even make some cool, conveniently-sized note-taking booklet to take around with you;
- You can make a real book at home!! Time for some handcrafting weekends!
- Refinements: new graphic is cool, code has been partially rewritten.
For pro users there are even too many features at such a bargain price: PDF boxes, creep compensation, booklet splitting, zooming, page numbering…
If you were tight on budget, there is going to be a 50% discount today, tomorrow and Sunday, you better hurry up.
