Like a beautiful woman

Oct 12, 2018

After about one year, 2 days ago I decided to remove the protective glass layer I had put on the display of my iPhone 7 Jet Black. The glass itself wasn't scratched or anything, but for months I had had to cope with a couple of tiny air bubbles that got stucked under the layer since its installation. At the beginning they didn't bother me, I could barely see them; they didn't worry me much either, since the glass's producer said they would eventually disappear.
But as the months passed, instead of going away the began to get bigger, eventually covering the top-left part of the screen and the front-facing camera. Yesterday, in the end, the two bubbles had merged into a bigger one, and the grime that had been accumulating on the glass's edges began to penetrate into the bubbles. Enough is enough, and I decided to remove it altogether and give it a good cleaning with some alcohol. What came out was a incredibly good looking phone.

It was like a beautiful woman without makeup, allowing me to see her real beauty.

I chose to leave it this way. Unprotected and beautiful.
There are things I will miss, the comfort in knowing crashing the screen was a little harder and the guide the glass made around the home button had almost made me forget how flat it is.
What has though been revealed, is a phone with no apparent joints between the screen and the case, a slab of lucid black material come out from space. It finally is how designers wanted me to see and feel it and I love it.
