I read this story on SixColors when it first got published, but forgot to write about it right away.
Now, pretty much every site has picked it up (kudos to the writer!) and commented on it. I just wanted to add my take: do you know what fixes a bad human curation? Human curation.
If everyone of us would take some time to review the apps we use, the ones we love and the ones we don't, the AppStore would be curated by humans, us. If, on the other hand, everyone is as lazy as I am on the topic, wild, bad and even illegal behavior will overcome.
This is by no means enough, David Barnard's story details many fraudulent practices that shall be condemned, and I totally agree Apple should enroll some tough guys to kick some butts out, but I still believe we all can make our part.
